Perseverance: Elon Musk

Tesla is one of the biggest breakthroughs in the business industry. It started off back in 2003, when Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning founded the company. However, these names aren’t as prominent as they used to be. When one thinks of Tesla, their minds automatically fall to Elon Musk; the CEO of the company. Musk transformed the company in so many ways, and he did it all through perseverance.

Recently, Musk has been crowned the title of being the richest man in the world. His accomplishments may be something that normal civilians could only dream of doing, but in reality, his core values are how he got to where he is. One of the hardest hurdles he faced was nearly going into bankruptcy.

During the production of the Model 3 Ramp, Musk went through a horrible period in which he described as “extreme stress and pain”. Tesla was almost a month away from bankruptcy, which would’ve caused many issues in the company and Musk’s career. Production and logistics were completely decelerated from 2017 to 2019. Instead of watching everything fall apart in front of him, he instead decided to put his fate into his side hustle; SpaceX.

One of Musk’s biggest aspirations is for humans to colonize Mars, so he decided. After bringing this idea to life, the stock market boomed in ways that Musk never expected. With this amazing response, Musk states, “Yes, although I didn’t expect the stock to rise so much so soon. The reason for the stock options is that they’re needed to help pay for humanity to get to Mars in 10 to 20 years”. With all this money, Tesla was blown out of the water and resumed right back on track with their Model 3 Ramp.

Perseverance can be applied to anything and everything in daily life. Next time you face an issue in life, make sure that giving up is never an option. True entrepreneurs are successful not only because they make money, but because they know how to play the game of business.
