The Delphi is a non-profit news organization that highlights current events, important figures, the history behind notable holidays, and the reality of mental illnesses around the world that may be underrepresented. Unlike other news outlets, our mission is to inspire our readers to take action and make a difference. Although mainstream media is very educational, it can also be a negative place at times. We use the platform we were given to uplift others and provide a positive experience for each and every one of our readers.
During 2020, the news was a hostile place, and many topics were difficult for most teenagers and young adults to comprehend. Most articles were about COVID-19 deaths and violent protests, but there was never a call-to-action involved. While our articles also discuss these topics, we focus on the life lessons rather than just addressing the negative statistics. We intended to write from a positive perspective and in an easy-to-digest format, which motivated us to collaborate and launch the Delphi, a newspaper dedicated to redefining news.
